Pre-release information. Public launch materials are still under review.
Pre-release privacy notice
This notice describes the current MOVR rider and driver test apps operated by MOVR Technologies Inc. Public ride service has not launched. Updated October 27, 2026.
Account and trip information
MOVR uses account identifiers, name, email, authentication information, membership status, saved places, trip addresses, trip progress, ratings and support messages to provide and manage the service. Drivers also provide contact, vehicle, license and insurance details and document images for review.
Location
The rider app requests location to help choose a pickup and display a trip. You can decline and enter a pickup manually. The driver app uses location while online and during active trips, including in the background when enabled, to match requests and show arrival progress. Trip participants receive the limited information needed for their trip.
Payments
Stripe processes payment details and collects driver identity and payout-bank details through its hosted onboarding. MOVR receives verification requirements, account readiness, balances, transfer and bank-payout status. MOVR stores provider identifiers, transaction records and limited saved-card information such as card brand and last four digits. MOVR does not collect payout bank numbers in its own form. Current test builds use a Stripe sandbox. Do not enter real payment card details during testing.
Service providers
Supabase provides authentication, database and private document storage. Vercel hosts the application services. Google Maps provides maps, address lookup and routing. Stripe provides payment processing. Expo and Apple provide app and notification infrastructure. These providers may process the information needed to operate their services under their own privacy terms.
Recovery backups
MOVR uses a private GitHub runner to create encrypted recovery snapshots of account, trip, financial and private document data. Only encrypted archives are stored in a private Google Cloud bucket. Archives expire after 30 days, followed by a seven-day recoverable deletion period. Deleted information can remain in those restricted backups until expiry. Any recovery must reapply account deletions and retention cleanup before returning the service to use.
Trip messages and sharing
Assigned riders and drivers can message each other without sharing phone numbers. MOVR stores those messages for up to 30 days before scheduled cleanup. Pickup instructions and verification PINs are restricted to the trip, and private trip details are removed 30 days after the trip ends. If a rider creates a live-trip link, anyone holding it can view limited trip status and coordinates until it expires, is stopped or the trip ends. Only share that link with people you trust. Lock Screen trip updates show status without addresses or message content.
Scheduled and guest bookings
MOVR stores future pickup times, the reviewed route and fare, driver reservations and booking changes. If you book for another adult with their permission, MOVR stores their first name with the trip. You remain responsible for payment, messages and trip changes. No guest phone number is collected for this feature. A guest link can reveal the guest and booker first names, pickup time, route, pickup instructions, assigned driver and vehicle, available driver location and pickup PIN before verification. Anyone with the link can view it. Share it only with the intended passenger. You can stop access from the booking or active trip; access also expires automatically and ends with the trip. Your phone location is not treated as your guest passenger location.
Optional diagnostics
App diagnostics are off by default. If you enable them in Settings, MOVR collects account-linked app version, platform, performance timings and error categories for up to eight days. Diagnostic events do not include addresses, precise locations, message bodies, payment details or raw error text. You can turn sharing off at any time.
Provider diagnostics
Stripe payment components collect device characteristics and interaction data for fraud prevention and analytics. Google Maps collects identifiers, interaction, crash and performance data for functionality and analytics. These providers process that data under their own privacy terms. The MOVR diagnostics switch controls MOVR's optional feed and does not disable the providers' collection.
Private calling
When private calling is available and you request a call, Twilio receives the verified phone numbers needed to connect the trip participants using a MOVR caller number. MOVR does not record these calls. In-app trip messages are available without phone verification.
Optional AI assistance
If you choose AI support and give permission, your support text, recent conversation and relevant trip context are sent to Anthropic to generate a reply. Use a support ticket instead if you do not want this sharing. Do not send passwords, government identifiers or full payment details in support messages.
Notifications and controls
Notification permission is optional and can be changed in device Settings. Operational and optional promotional messages may be delivered through the app. Manage saved places and payment methods in Account. Driver location collection can be stopped by going offline; active trips may need to be ended first.
Deletion and retention
In the app, open Account, Settings, Delete account. Deletion removes the login, cancels membership and removes or anonymizes personal profile information. Limited transaction, dispute, security and safety records may remain where needed. Driver Stripe balances and bank payouts must settle before the payout account can close. Private document cleanup is asynchronous. Deletion is not a promise that every record disappears immediately.
Questions
During the pre-release test, use Account, Help and support to create a support ticket and view replies in Support. A public support and privacy contact is still being finalized before customer launch. This notice will be updated before public availability.
